David Crockett Birthplace State Park
for Marsha's Halloween event -
And, as always - she had planned for lots of fun!
[But say a little prayer for her as she's having some back issues
that are causing her some problems...]
This year we had an early morning start and drove it all in one day - and omgoodness - what a beautiful sky we had has the sun came shining up over the First Baptist Church steeple as we were leaving town...
[Taken through the car window - and I LOVE IT.]
We sure enjoyed our campsite just across from the creek and pulled our camper all the way up [car parked behind] so we could enjoy the view out our front windows!
The late October sunsets did not disappoint and we enjoyed relaxing around the campfire our first night until a storm blew in...
Then I was mighty thankful for our awning that can be configured in lots of ways... we tucked under it and enjoyed the lightening show for a bit before bed...
I added a few things to our decorations - Some skulls and jack-o-lanterns...
And some orange lights under #AnnieLeetheArgosy...
Also a cute little Halloween rug for the step...
camper decorating contest... and time to visit with friends!
Also a costume contest -
And there were some GREAT ones -
like this favorite of mine - THE ADDAMS FAMILY.
Craig and I stuck with something easy this year...
Toast and Jelly or Peanut Butter and Jelly...
whatever...
We won a prize bc of Craig's wig, I think...
And I have great plans for it next year - HA.
only I refused to carve and instead put together this fun little guy
just a few minutes before the contest ended...
OH. AND HOW COULD I FORGET -
The nasty little gnome that roamed around the campground...
He showed up at our campsite at least twice...
and, trust me, you don't want to be stuck with him at the end of the day on Saturday...lol..
We loved getting out for an early breakfast one morning
at a small local place.
were very pretty and relaxing too!
As we were headed down the interstate to our next campground we heard a distress call and stopped to help out fellow argosy friends.
ARGONAUTS TO THE RESCUE!!
HA.
[Although, I'm still not sure what the hammer was used for...]
And even with Magic Myrtle [our navigator] taking us up and down and around some crazy curvy mountains roads... we made it to Harrison Bay State Park [Chattanooga, TN] with plenty of time to enjoy the afternoon.
Craig did a GREAT JOB researching and securing such a perfect stop
for us to stop overnight to break up our trip a bit.
I'd love to come back and spend a long weekend here.
It feels isolated and away from it all -
But if you take the MAIN roads in,
it's not far from lots of things to see and do!
PS: I've recently got up-to-date on all of the Annie Lee traveling updates - if you're interested, just click on the #AnnieLeetheArgosy tag below and it will take you to all of the posts re: our adventures!
See you on the road!
