Common Place Book April 2026

 HA -
Let's start with this...
a work in progress..
I'm considering giving up my paper calendar that I've kept since 1984 [yes I'm old...] and using the calendar in my common place book... but I'm still not sure...
ALL THE IMPORTANT things are on a shared googly calendar with Craig...
 Week One -
Week Two -  Easter week
And there's a bit of hidden journaling underneath those flowers...
little crazy art...
With a quote I saw on the internets -

Week Three - a good week at home...
Some art journaling with my Kansas friends via zoom...
Week Four - A very nice non-travel week -
There ya go!
Live life
Find the joy!

Common Place Book March 2026

It's March already!
And I won't lie -
This was a CRAZY busy month - even for us!

Started the month with scripture references again -
and Taleah's sweet art work from Illustrated Faith, plus some hand drawn flowers.
Week One - enjoyed our time together at Disney.
[Always.]
 A little art journaling...
Week Two - we had an unexpected opportunity to attend Camp Nash
- and it was just wonderful!

another art page that's definitely a work in progress...
I'll get back to it as I wrap my head around some thoughts...

Week Three - Girls' Lunch, favorite quotes and a pop-up snow!
Plus camping at Davy Crockett...

Week Four - another good camping week with friends!
And note: we're seeking out places to ride our bikes
in whatever city we might be in -
PS: I think we were home 4 days this month.
The cats own the house.
that is all.

Common Place Book February 2026

 Here we go -

I took a spread to write out some of the scripture I've been reading this month...

Week one - mostly at home.
So glad Drew was available to help with my computer -

I made a spread to use for prayers for my kiddos - this will be private and not shared on the world wide web...

Week Two - Lots of appointment [including fun things] here at home -

And a page to celebrate our new year
2026
Can you believe it?

Week Three: The weather was PERFECT for our
February Alabama Airstream Rally!

I pulled out some older art journals and used some things as inspiration... I really want my Common Place Book to be a mixture of on-going life plus Art Journaling...
And Week Four - On the road again.
And I love how God brings memories to mind to speak of His goodness.
Have a great month, y'all!
And go ahead -
Start documenting our life!

Common Place Book January 2026

Okay - I have to say -
I LOVED doing my Common Place Book pages each week last year!
[and I'm loving AI photos a bit too much, maybe!]
I started the year with the in-between week with  Kelly Bangs [- SO FUN!] and listed some goals, habits, word and scripture for the year -

then filled a page with memes that inspire me -

Our January was busy and filled with all sorts of wonderful things... and also some things that took me by surprise and sadness..
But I choose to focus on the good -

Another spread with memes regarding my Word of the Year - LIGHT -
God's light will guide us - and also,
God wants us to shine His light for others to see -
[I've had a 'word of the year' for over 20 years now...]

After our week in Santa Rosa Beach, we moved over to Gulf State Park -
a forever favorite of ours!
And then on a whim, we drove over and stayed at Biloxi Bay in Mississippi.

Another spread of memes I've collected...

And sometimes I journal things that
I don't need to share with the world...
know what I mean?

The last spread for January is a pocket page with more memes - HA - and a page I completed with my Kansas girls via zoom...

And the last week of January -
SO {{SOOOOO}} COLD -
But no snow or ice for us!
We stayed cozy and caught up with friends and our retirement job - lol -
So there it is -
my common place book
Just bits and pieces of my life each week -

Common Place Book December 2025

Quick round up of December pages...

I think I wrote this on a weekly spread,  but I'm surprised I continued this throughout the entire year. And also surprised by how much I've enjoyed it!!

Not as much art this month bc we were busy... as was everyone, right?

Looking forward to continuing this practice in 2026.

Commonplace Book ♥️ November ♥️

I've realized I've not shared this little practice on the socials much...
Truth is, when I started this [re-purposed] book back in January
I wasn't sure if I'd still be doing it this month [SO MANY unfinished projects, ha].

But here I am... just finishing up the first week in December -
and I am enjoying it so much!!

There's nothing special about it - obviously - just bits and pieces of [my] everyday life all in one place. And I love it.

[Even the seemingly unfinished pages... because: life.]
#FaithBasedPages --> bc I added a little bit of what God's been teaching me each week [we're never too old to learn from Him.]

Let's take a look at my

Commonplace Book for
October 2025
I'm still LOVING this journaling practice, y'all!
It's part diary, part scrapbook,
and a fun place to play!
For instance - this is a napkin from a fun event during the month...
I might go back and add a quote...
who knows...
Some hidden journaling this week -
and that's okay - we don't have to share EVERYthing with the world...
We definitely love fall camping!
We've camped so much these past few week that time seems to have just whizzed by - [How is it NOVEMBER already?!?] I tried to document how our weekly trips to check on Craig's mother help us see the changing seasons...

LOVED seeing my brother and his family several times this past month!
It's always wonderful to be together.
[and it always makes me miss my sister...]

Sometimes we just need a little time alone to sort our thoughts...
Praying for someone we know to feel God's presence and love as they deal with some things...

I've been a bit of a buying spree... maybe it's the giant box I took to GoodWill that caused it... but also, Who can pass up $2.50 jeans?

Love Mary Oliver;s poetry...
That is all...

We've had PERFECT weather for camping all month! And yay for Shipleys Donuts in Huntsville! [It's the little things...]

And lastly... our cats are always happy when we return home.
To clarify - we only have two -
but I couldn't resist this bit of art I found on the internets.
