Holland America Alaska Cruise
We all took shuttles from our different hotels and arrived at about the same time. Security to get on board was fairly simple - having our boarding pass on our phones made it easy.We all boarded apx 11 a.m. and we were herded into the Lido Mkt [buffet] where we enjoyed a sampling of food for lunch...
So nice to have the balcony!
I've only been on one other cruise and can say that I doubt I do another one without the balcony - but more on that later -
And what a sweet gift to make our room easier to find!
The afternoon was filled with time on the pool deck,
spa tours, and raffle drawings..
Loved seeing Mount Rainer clear as could be!
The last time we were in Seattle it was hidden behind clouds -
[Taken with my little super zoom -]
Dinner as a group in the dinning room... we all ordered two starters because it's hard to decide ! And some ordered two desserts...
I had the pork medallions with huckleberry sauce and sweet potato mash...
ONE parsnip chip and ONE brusell sprout. It was good [I'd order it again.]
Everyone thought the food was good.. although not excellent...
Spent the evening exploring our ship...
ending at the crow's nest for a lovely sunset...
We saw land all day today on one side of the ship...
I can feel the ship more than the other cruise we've taken... but it's bearable.
Of course the wind on deck is PRETTY CRAZY
and we could hardly stand up - lol -
The ship navigator app is a bit wonky and frustrating...
But We're having a wonderful time!!
