This is beautiful place!
And just look at Annie Lee with her new paint!
We were here for a vintage camping event [more on that below] and loved our campsite that was on a hill overlooking the paved path and water below!
We took two cars [because 1 - it's closer to home and 2 - there was a yard sale and I had LOTS of camping related stuff to sell!] so I couldn't resist taking some photos of our camper as we drove through the hills of Tennessee.
This is probably the last camper we will own...
and we just enjoy it so much!
So. Tims Ford - the woodsy views from our camper were so wonderful!
I loved that there was no one behind us so we could open the back shade to enjoy the view through the bathroom window...
And loved seeing Annie Lee up the hill from the paved path...
I'd remembered these paths from our one camping trip back in the day so we brought our scooters along - and oh my goodness.
So. Much. Fun.
Reminds me of all the fun my cousin and I had on our little honda 50s back in the day! We zipped all over the campground and just enjoyed being out in nature so much!
[Disclaimer: we do have a self-imposed 'rule' that we have to walk for thirty minutes every day we ride our scooters...ha. ] These are just so fun! And so much easier to balance than the electric bikes we had...
Leslie [with Vintage Inn Campers] puts on a great event - with fun goodie bags
[the cookies are always SO DELICIOUS!] and activities!
There's a potluck one evening [we chose to bring our own hobo meal because, hey - #socialdistancing] that is a great way to visit with other vintage camper lovers...
and since this was Halloween there were lots of goodies around -
[cupcakes on our counter top with dirty dishes in our sink - just keeping it real, folks!]
and decorations all over the campground!
Some people decorated SO MUCH more than we did...
The weather was cool - but perfect for a campfire!
Here's the group photo -
We had our masks on until the minute we said 'cheese'
[if you look our photo from her event in the summer I didn't
My review: Honestly? We camped at Tims Ford ONE time back in the day, and while we LOVED the bike paths with the boys... the bath houses were soooo dirty and smelled like an out house so we never went back. I'm happy to say that is not the case now. Everything was clean and neat. [They even came through and blew the leaves off the ENTIRE bike path...]
Good cell / internet service. I love the woodsy feel of it all. Sites are TIGHT and as mentioned above I felt like we were right on the road since we were in the curve.
The paved paths were fabulous!
