This is Pawley.

He has eight toes on each foot.
[Poly dactyl = Pawley, get it?]

Matt stopped by a friend's house on the way home
from Auburn and picked him up for me about 8 years ago.
So adorable.
His siblings had crazy toes too.
Pawley lives outside happily.
We have people stop by and feed him when we travel.
 Despite this,
when we got home Friday Craig found two partially eaten squirrels
 in Pawley's indoor sleeping area...
Saving for a rainy day.
Ha.
[It's sure been rainy around these parts!]

I think I've shared

this little pic on facebook already -
This is what our dining room table looks like right now -
We're going OLD-SCHOOL with our planning
for a trip to New England in the fall.
Craig has some work up that way, so I'm going to tag along
and we're oping to see a few things on the weekends before and after his meetings -
Since neither of us have been there
we're trying to get the landscape straight in our minds -
And what better way than tearing pages out of an atlas
and sticking it to a bulletin board
with stickies all over it of things we want to do / see?
We'd love to have YOUR must-see ideas!
Flying in / out of Boston --

Living in three different cities

makes it hard for us to all find time to get together -

So it was extra special to have a Sunday afternoon to just hang out and visit -
We took the time to celebrate this one's birthday just a bit early -
And, Uncle Craig was able to get her to wear sequins...
and glitter...
If only for a little while - lol

Love you guys!
Wish we all lived closer!!

Right Here

Right Now -
I'm all out of sorts since we've been traveling
SO MUCH MORE THAN USUAL this month -
It was nice to come home and see all the early summer flowers in bloom!
[The overgrown grass due to all the rain, not so much - lol]
I love primroses!
And I love that I have them in my garden!

And this pink hydrangea!
Wow!

So funny that it grows in the same bed as this blue one -
And y'all know I love the tiger lilies that are some heirloom plants
from the home my mama grew up in -
[That creeping charlie is getting a little too aggressive though - ha.]

Caught this little guy
WITH MY CELL PHONE.
[Heavily edited, but still...]
Emma came along for her 1st camping trip in #LottieScotty...
She's gained a pound or so and her little vest is a bit tight...
But we managed...
And lastly, loved seeing the love for the USA exhibited this weekend.
SO THANKFUL for those who defend the flag.
That's it -
Right Here. Right Now.
A few days late if you're keeping up with my schedule... ha.
But I'm doing what I can - lol.
It's back to the real world now....

Tagging along

on my sweetheart's trip and saw a little snow in the mountains!
Also ate way too much green sauce today.
And LOVED the Navajo Taco at Carlitos
just as much as the last time we were here!

We headed back down to The Gulf

to see our dau-law complete in the
Iron Man event in Panama City Beach -
[She's awesome!]
It was good to have Craig's mother join on us on the trip!
Like us, they spent many family vacations at PCB -
And boy has it changed a lot since we were kids - lol!

Loving my new bi-focals for the computer!

My doc suggested I get a pair with the top part being
half of the strength I use for reading glasses
[- the bottom is my regular reading glass script.]
So I ordered some from zenni.com and
they seriously do make a difference in how tired my eyes feel at the end of the day.
[I got a pair to keep at the office because, hello- zenni is SO AFFORDABLE.]
Soon after I saw my doc and placed my order I read this same handy tip in my Real Simple magazine, so I feel like I'm keeping up with the trends, y'all. ha.

Right Here, Right Now

 Or maybe not really
RIGHT NOW,
But this is happening way too often..
Or...
Maybe not.
Gotta 'plan the calories' to accommodate
Come on...
I know I'm not the only one who loves it.
[And with the second location being built
down my way I know I'm in trouble. - Ha.]
Good friends, good food
and all that...
We've helped them lock up on more than one occasion...

Well - here's the deal...

I try to post here on the blog several times weekly
- but lately I just haven't got to it --
[sweet glider a friend picked up for us a few weeks back -]
And I try to keep to a schedule of sorts
[ - scrap book - faith journaling  - 'round the house - on my bookshelf - recipes -
-  art journal -  here & now - project eighteen -  ETC. ETC.
Plus the posts that share our life a bit more - ]
And,  I usually try to 'catch-up' when I've missed some posts -
But I'm not feeling it y'all - ha.
'Tis the truth -
[Azaleas near our training site in Montgomery a couple of weeks ago - ]
Maybe it's the  pollen in the air, maybe it's the renovation I've partially started,
maybe it's that I've been eating like crap and feel awful,
maybe it's that winter will
 just. not. go. a. way.
So I'm not going back to 'catch-up' on posts, there I said it.
But
I will share a few things from right here, right now - lol -
Like our Easter goodies that I ate way too much of -
LOVE those little paint cans with the bunnies that I used as cup cake holders!
And LOVE the dogwoods in our yard!
They are SO GORGEOUS all over our part of town!
Oh, and let me introduce you to Buttercup
- Craig's newest little project.
She's a 1967 Shasta Compact that Craig found for A DEAL.
[Of course he did.]
Look at the wings!
That's what gives her the most value, hmmm... character!
She's mostly gutted already, and while this is definitely his project
[the one I mentioned above is totally different and MUCH BIGGER - I'll share soon enough,] I'm on board to help out where I can
[the one mentioned above will be a joint effort as well!]
We're already on the hunt for the perfect yellow color because that goldie yellow has got to go - and I've already got some ideas for the interior colors as well -
Right now I'm thinking yellow and grey,
with a little vintage green [NOT avocado] added in...
we'll see...
I love this mid-century laminate I found - and am thinking it would be cool for the bit of counter space she has and the removable table...
It kind of reminds me of the table we had growing up...
But sister will have to tell me if I'm remembering that correctly - ha.
So that's it y'all. I'll see if I can get back on track for the rest of the month --
Happy Spring!
[It will be here soon!
I believe!]

Right Here Right Now

... enjoying this bit of nature on the Tennessee River
with my sweetheart -

Monday, March 5, 2018

I'm sure you've all seen the letter boards that

are so popular right now --
Turns out I got one for Christmas...
- I finally opened it up and organized all the letters and words!
Turns out, I may NEED more letters
[Isn't that just the way it is? - ha.]
And okay, I realize this is a big quote with lots of words / letters,
but I wish it was all black on the white -
Annnnddd - I may end up painting the frame black too ---
Right now it's on my desk at work, facing my window [in the hallway] so I see it as I walk in each day - But I can see it being used here at home as well.
Let me know how you use yours!

Right here, right now...

I've swapped out my make-up bag again.
I know y'all are just dying to know - ha
I used to have a bag much like this [a bit smaller, free from Estee' Lauder years ago]
and then changed to one of my fav' train cases with a little mirror in it.
That was fun -
But waaaaaay too big -
And difficult to travel with once I started packing a cpap machine -
+ the WEIGHT [when flying...]
So I've been looking for a replacement - and also started carrying a smaller hanging
[think LL Bean, Eddie Bauer, etc.] toiletry bag -
But I really don't like having to keep up with two separate bags...
When I found this little lunch bag [ON SALE!] [AND PURPLE!]  I was thrilled.
It's traveled with me already and I'm loving it.
So right now [right here] I'm dis-assembling the second bag and going back to one that I can just zip up quickly and hit the road. Because y'all know I'm on the road a lot... but apparently not as much as some...I'm just sayin'

Right Here

Right now -
We're both still not well
[Craig with his "ridiculous" back,
and me with a sinus infection
that I'm blaming on the 80 + temps in my office all week.]
But I had an eye appointment that was long overdue
so I made myself get up and go.
[Dilation, anyone?]
And while not much has changed...
we may have hit on a solution for my tired computer eyes -
I'm looking forward to giving it a go -
Have a great weekend, y'all!
[And STAY WARM - it's still below freezing
in the middle of the day 'round these parts - ]

Goodbye fall...

Although your colors are still so beautiful outside my window -
It's time to move on...

Friday, November 3, 2017

I've been considering this

for about a year now --
I even used some 'Halloween' hair paint last year to see how it might go -
So this week I just said,
Let's go for it -
And I kinda love it -
I like that from the front you barely see it -
And really, I'm not sure most people notice it from the back...
It's going to be interesting to see how it grows out [or fades...]
Right here. Right now.

Enjoyed a day with family...

Gotta say - I'm loving Cracker Barrel's pepper maple bacon...
[It's not just for senior citizens...]

Friday, August 11, 2017

So KittyLou may

be getting ready for the new school year -
As for this 'empty-nester' I've completely lost track
of any semblance of the school calendar...
And I'm good with that.
Although, I do still kinda miss buying back-to-school supplies...

Friday, August 4, 2017

Right here -

Right now -
KittyLou is wanting to go outside every time the door is opened -
only to want back in five minutes later...
Also - try as I might to remember to take a hat with me when I'm going to be outside it always seems to be hanging right by the door when I get back home.
LOL
I've resorted to keeping one in the car!
Hope your summer days are sunny and bright!
[We've had our share of rain 'round these parts!]

So y'all know we're crazy, right?

Ha.
Here's the deal - we went on a little treasure hunt recently...
[My sweetheart can find THE BEST treasures...]
 ...like wild blackberries.
Oh. My.
I bet it's been 30 years since I've had these tiny delicious berries!
I think I could've eaten a quart of them!
We'd driven a ways from home and had already made
the deal of the day
when we started talking about another treasure
we'd been on the look-out for for a few years...
The next thing I know,
he's disappearing into the woods with three guys I don't know...
And then out they come with another treasure...
Something he's been looking around for for a while...
A tailgate off of a 1964 Ford Truck.
YES.
You see, his daddy worked for Ford, so it's extra special to him...
We'll probably preserve it, rust and all, and make it the back of a bench....
I think it's pretty cool.
[And I think he does too.]
But here's the deal of the day -
Lottie 2.0
Which will be referred to as Lottie Scotty from now on...
Isn't she a beauty?
When we bought the hi-lander that we flipped a few weeks ago,
we found that we really liked the higher ceilings and extra windows...
So when he found this one with the windows across the top / front
I knew we had to at least go and look at it.
Oh. My.
It's wonderful to have that extra light
from windows that are so tall no one can see in...
And THAT DOOR.
I love it.
There are lots of good things about this camper - we have the original paper work - the original manual - the original everything, really. She's a 1971 Scotty Hi-lander, and has the curved wall that I love. [Look at that original light!!]
There's a little work needed, but she's basically camp-able right now.
In fact, I'm trying to talk him into pulling her up the hill
in our yard and camping out for a weekend...
I can't wait to share more about her face lift in the coming weeks!!
So yes, we know we're crazy too...
But we love life...
and a good deal...
what can I say...
