Aishling the Airstream Update No. 058

 

 Our first camping trip of 2026!

We DO LOVE a winter beach! 

 

For the last few years we've enjoyed winter camping in Santa Rosa Beach for CANOPENER - an Airstream event...that has about 100 rigs and lots of fun.

 

These last couple of years we've stayed at 30A RV Resort 

and had our own little Winter Camp of sorts - lol 

 

We surely do love the club house! 

We're close enough to enjoy all the CanOpener activities over at TopSail

 

...and also close enough to a little public beach to visit it a few times each day. ..

So buckle-up, buttercup - Here's some of my favorite photos from the week -->

And I'll say it again and again - 

That emerald green water in Florida is beautiful!

It's always wonderful to catch up with friends from the our Airstream family at CanOpener - 

This is our VAC [vintage airstream club] lunch at ACME Oyster House.

[And while I DO NOT eat oysters, I do enjoy a favorite meal there -]

We also met up with our Alabama Club Members who were at CanOpener -

Never enough time to visit together! 

 

The Peppered Pig is good enough to do a double take - ha

Especially on a cold morning.... 

 

And we loved visiting with our friends from the Music City Airstream Club 

 

Thanks for 'saving us a seat' for beach side dining - YUM!

We bonded over our Argosy ownership... 

Now we're mostly all in VAC and still camp together throughout the year..

We sponsor a CanOpener event called "It's a Southern Thang, y'all" - where we serve up tomato sandwiches, RC Cola and moon pies - 

 

Craig started this impromptu event at the first CanOpener we attended and it's now on the schedule each year - [Side Note: the temps at CanOpener this year were CrAzY - on this day it was in the 80s...]

 

Here's our little group all dressed up for The Long Long Table - 

Western theme this year. and you can see that we do our best to fulfill the assignment! 

 

The week was a good mix of beach time, good food, visiting with friends.... 

and CanOpener activities...

 

And while our public beach was VERY NICE... 

there's not much that can surpass the beauty of the beaches at TopSail Preserve. 

Sitting on a warm winter beach is a wonderful thing.

CanOpener has LOTS of events throughout the week - 

CornHole is a favorite and Craig always gives it a go!

And this year he kept going and going....

 

Until HE WON THE TOURNAMENT!!
