Aishling the Airstream Update No. 046

 Vintage Airstream Club
Rendezvous
Gifford Pinchot State Park
Pennsylvania
Where we took a moment to celebrate our 42nd wedding anniversary at the best Italian restaurant we've been to in years!
Seriously TINY.
But delicious.
Alas, I digress....

From the internets:  "Gifford Pinchot State Park, a 2,338-acre, full-service park, is in northern York County along PA 177 between the towns of Rossville and Lewisberry. The park consists of reverting farm fields and wooded hillsides with the 340-acre Pinchot Lake serving as a prime attraction.  With 289 campsites at the southern end of the lake, this park provides one of the largest state park campgrounds in the commonwealth. All of the sites have macadam pads and can accommodate virtually any piece of camping equipment from a large motor home to the smallest tent. Many sites have electric hook-ups; some sites have full service hook up. The park honors Governor Gifford Pinchot (1865-1946). Pinchot is credited as being the foremost American apostle of conservation. Appointed by President Theodore Roosevelt as the first forester of the United States in 1898, Gifford Pinchot acted as the President’s “Chief Advisor” in the conservation movement. With the guidance of Roosevelt and Pinchot, more than 200,000,000 acres of national forest came under scientific land management."

So. We were at this state park for VAC Rendezvous -
a little pre-camp for Vintage Airstream Members to hang out together prior to the BIG Airstream International Week -
We co-hosted with our friends, the Watsons
and had a wonderful few days reuniting with so many friends that we've met through the years!
Some highlights -->
A little stretching in the mornings...
It's amazing how that helps get the morning off to a good start!

We enjoyed meals together -
pot-luck... catered...
and yes pancakes too!
[Thee guys have the system down!]
AND we had some wonderful entertainment!
I always love to her Denny and Artie sing together!
 The park was HUGE!
We had to exit the campground and drive a few miles down the road to the pavilion - but this Pennsylvania countryside was all so beautiful!
Gifford Pinchot State Park -
Rustic - and beautiful.
Bath houses / showers were clean.
Good internet / cell service.
... pay no attention to that camper parked in our spot when we arrived... That's another story for another day... He skedaddled once he knew he'd been found out. lol
