Streaming the Gap
Cumberland Gap, Tennessee
WOW. - Just wow...
You never know if you'll hit the fall-color jackpot...
but we definitely did this year!
and actually pulled into downtown was gorgeous!
making this 'urban rally' a great success!
[We even put our BRN on the front with magnets for this event - lol
-- they're always on our rear view...]
Being downtown Cumberland Gap with about thirty other airstreams was so fun! It's a beautiful little town that was extremely welcoming to us streamers!
They had lots of activities planned for us - including a few meals,
hikes, history sessions, bike rides, etc.
We enjoyed riding our scooters on the bike trails so much!
And one evening we had an outdoor movie time...
I was glad to have the heated gloves that night!
We mostly enjoyed hanging out around the campers
and meeting new airstreaming friends...
[Above is our 1973 #AnnieLeetheArgosy parked in front of a 2023 airstream. - kinda cool to see that these trailers have a long history!]
But it was cold, y'all - so we did our fair share of sitting by the fire [ha] while reading or watching football on the telly...
Ha.
drove up to the pinnacle that overlooks The Gap - and it was SO BEAUTIFUL and pretty neat to see all the trailers in the little town down below...
And it was such a sweet little town with resident cats that would follow you around... and deer roaming the residential streets!
that we enjoyed so much!
Kudos to the Guardians of the Gap and
the East Tennessee Airstream Club for putting this together each year!
Note: Streaming the Gap did not have shower facilities.
There were bathrooms in the local park that we used...
Cell service was excellent.
------------
we stayed at Wilderness Road Campground in Virginia.
A beautiful place with clean bathrooms and good internet service.
