Tishomingo State Park
Mississippi
I think this may have been one of the first places Craig and I camped together...
but that was a loooong time ago, so who really knows?
Maybe it was JP Coleman? Ha.
and then, on a whim, decided to stay the night,
and I'm so glad we did.
First
of all - Hello - I love {{LOVE}} that my work schedule
no longer dictates what
we can or can't do.
And secondly - as much as we plan our life together,
it's was just fun to do something on the spur of the moment....
spending an extra night unexpectedly...
not unhooking from the truck...
eating only what we had in the camper...
[talking about stocking up on some canned goods for moments like these... lol.]
We enjoyed eating our dinner of instant potato soup
and leftovers while outside with our tv trays and nature...
And we enjoyed the quietness of the early morning fog
while having a leisurely breakfast together...
Just such a relaxing way to start the day!
... as the kids next door packed up their tent, got on their bikes,
and continued their ride down The Trace...[And yay!
I think I've finally *perfected* the sunny-side-up microwave egg - lol]
While Craig took care of some business, I enjoyed time in The Word
while celebrating Earth Day outside in nature...
also, a walk along the creek where I saw thousands of tadpoles!
I can't even remember the last time I saw tadpoles... and
oh how I wanted to bring some home for our boys... but somehow, I'm not sure they would appreciate them like they did back in the day...lol
Tishomingo State Park is so close to the Natchez Trace Parkway. We've always enjoyed driving The Trace and think it's so beautiful,
so of course, we took it back up to Alabama...
My review:
This is a beautiful little campground.
Campsites near the water are pretty and spacious,
however, most of the camp pads were
not wide enough to have a flat space underneath the awning...
The bath houses looked like a basic campground bath houses.
The one closest to us was not open for the season... so I can't speak to the cleanliness of it...
Bottom
Line: We hope to go back.
It's a beautiful area in North Eastern Mississippi. And we would to have time to explore the area a bit more.
