Annie Lee the Argosy Update No. 027

We found this little gem of a campground when we were searching for a  quick overnight place to camp on our way to David Crockett Birthplace State Park...
[It's on the north side of the interstate -
same exit we take and go south towards Gatlinburg.]

Due to our work schedule / timing we didn't get there until right before dark...
but we had a few minutes to walk along the river a bit before the moon rise...
And it really was a beautiful place in October...
Those concrete 'sea walls' brought back some of my earliest memories of going to the TVA lakes when we lived in Chattanooga [I was two.]

The camp sites we saw were nice and level with picnic tables...
Each one has a nice lake view due to it being built into the side of a hill...

Since we lucked into a one night spot we were down close to the water [near the tent sites] and enjoyed the side walk / paths around the river before it got dark.

There were fish jumping in the water EVERYWHERE.
So I'm sure the campground is filled with fishermen and others enjoying the lake during the summer. But y'all know fall is our favorite season to camp so we loved it.

Here's our campsite, with the sidewalk in front.
You can see we didn't even un-hook from the truck...

This is the dam... and while it seems this campground is quite isolated,
it's really only 10-15 minutes off the interstate!

My review: we will definitely try to stay here whenever we might be in that part of Tennessee. The internet / cell service was good. Easy on / off the interstate...
We didn't use the bath house, so I can't speak to that...
The sites up on the hill appeared to be a little tight, but had a good view!
