but it's a 'good tired' as my Mama used to say ...
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving time - we sure did!
It started with this crew [my brother & sister and families -]
This photo was taken after the oldest and wife left to go to her family's thanksgiving...
So we had a house full - and enjoyed our meal - citrus salad, [crockpot] turkey breast, sausage dressing, green beans, cheesy potatoes, and pumpkin pie, apple crumble, and tea cakes just like our Mama M used to make... YUM.
I was too busy enjoying our time together to take many photos...
Afterwards we sat outside and played MK's new game - Headbands - fun!
I think we ended up out front [and not on the patio] because MK had great memories of the hammock, so Craig got it out and they all enjoyed it!
And also, because we were all hoping she could overcome some of her anxiety about animals - and KittyLou was perfect for that -
She even TOUCHED her - and that's wonderful -
even if she was bribed to do it - ha.
Friday we went over to Craig's mothers and enjoyed Thanksgiving with her.
The boys went with us and were wonderful to get all of her Christmas out
so she could begin decorating for the holiday -
On Saturday we did our non-traditional fondue with our little family -
Then moved on to meats and stuffed mushrooms that were either battered and fried or cooked in daughter-in-law's yummy broth -
Then we finished the meal with chocolate fondue
[and cherries, pound cake, bananas, and marshmallows...]
We were too full to eat it all!
So on Sunday we had friends over for
Turkey, Tidbits, and TALK
- our take on this whole 'friendsgiving' thing - but with the twist of bringing your leftovers to share... because, as mostly empty nesters we can't eat it all anymore...
But alas, no photos... we just enjoyed BEING together...
As we enjoyed having this one home for a few days...
missed his gal, but know she was enjoying being with her family...
So later Sunday evening I gathered all of 'fall' up to be put away...
I'm looking forward to the Christmas season...
But I have a confession to make - I've been buying some gifts these last few months, and I think I'm going to have to give the play room a thorough cleaning to locate them all -
Something it obviously needs to have done any way...
HA.
