Parksville Lake RV Campground
Cherokee National Forest
Near Ocoee, TN
We knew we wanted to arrive at our upcoming vintage camping event in Hiawassee rested and ready to go so we decided to leave late afternoon the day before
and have a quick stop-over in Parksville Lake Campground.
We were in a pull through site, and honestly, never even disconnected from the truck.
There was plenty of room to enjoy nature a bit.
[Oh how we hoped to see a bear since there were warnings EVERY WHERE about keeping your food up, etc. - But nope, nary a bear insight...]
and the sound of water rushing over rocks in the stream to listen to all night long...
And, as I said more than once --
I could get used to this.
And life changes ahead may afford the time to
enjoy smaller parks like this just a bit more.
away from the rush of things the world has to offer...
[but not too far from the internets - ha = TRUTH.]
but we had to walk over to a clearing in the trees to send / receive text messages -
So, TIP: always go 'old school' and let your family / loved ones know beforehand where you will be [contact info] should they need you for an emergency.
[microwaved breakfast sandwiches - we are SUCH pros at roughing it!]
to the Cherokee National Forest.
On our way out of the forest we stopped to enjoy the views of Parksville Lake
And of course to double-check all the hook-ups etc.
[It's always best to be extra cautious.]
My review: This is a beautiful, small campground - there are only 16 RV sites.
[Tent sites are across the main road.]
It was almost completely full but we still felt like we were isolated in nature - even with the bath house right across the street! There is only electric hook-ups [water pump is down the road a bit.] Despite the lack of connection [we use verizon] we will definitely be back for an overnight stay. But it might be a bit tooo isolated for us to stay an entire weekend...
