Aishling the Airstream Update No. 023

The first stop on the VAC Rolling Rally
[Vintage Airstream Club]
 Tom Sawyer RV Park
West Memphis, Arkansas
We had 9 rigs join us here with 16 people.
I love seeing these shiny brights lined up together!
Obviously, these photos were taken the next morning...
Because it drizzled rain the entire night we were there.
Not that anyone complained, because we
definitely need the rain in this area of the country.

You can see how low the Mighty Mississippi was during our stay...
This was a one night stop-over on the way to the
VAC Retro Rally in Little Rock.
Since everyone had a full travel day,
we got there a bit early and set up our clam
and served them all beans and greens,
plus cornbread.
It was a great way to meet
and get to know everyone -
Even if the rain [and SKEETERS!!] did keep it short and sweet.
The next morning started with a beautiful cloudy sunrise
peeping over the skyline of Memphis
and we headed on our way to Little Rock.
We lost two rigs who couldn't continue on with us...
but picked up three more.
Our meet up spot was Nick's BBQ in Carlisle, Arkansas...
Our caravan was loosely organized with a few of us texting where we were on the road... But we mostly just had a plan to meet again at the Maumelle COE Campground that afternoon. [More on that in the next post about #AishlingtheAirstream 's adventures.
 Tom Sawyer RV -
Y'all know we love this place as a quick stopover whenever we're heading west. And when the weather and skeeters are just right - it's so [so] relaxing to sit out by the river and watch these HUGE barges go up and down the Mississippi.
If you're ever nearby - give it a go!
