I want to be Mrs. Kip when I grow up!
What an extraordinary life she lived as she sought God's guidance
in every encounter He put before her!
Sara Brunsvold has created beautiful characters that show us
death can be lived with dignity
[something I've always striven for in my many years as a
social worker in Adult Protective Services.]
Mrs. Kip LIVED life in her dying days.
I want to see life that way, every day -
as an opportunity to minister, to love,
I loved seeing how this unlikely friendship grew between Mrs. Kip,
an elderly lady in hospice care
[oh that all of our long-term caregivers could be this loving and kind!],
and Aiden Kelly, a young writer,
working hard to launch her journalist career...
Indeed, God was doing a wonderful thing.
Life is not always easy, as Mrs. Kemp knew all too well... I love her words:
" Honey, this world is going to come at you. The pain is real, and it is sharp.
You know what it did to me. But you also know what I gave back to the world.
Despite it all, I returned light for darkness.
Remember that."
Always let the Lord guide you because He is at your right hand - never be shaken.
Wise words to live by...
Say it over and over --
Mrs. Clara Lu Kip truly embraced the tender art
of just being present in someone's life... of meeting people where they are,
and loving them - and being intentional about asking God to show her
how He could use her in their lives.
"She simply tried to love people as best she could
for as long as she was privileged to be with them"
I could go on and on... but just get the book and read it - so, so good.
Her walk with the Lord shines through her writing -
