Side Note: I also LOVED The Secret Keeps of Old Depot Grocery - just sayin'
He Should Have Told the Bees is a book about surprises, acceptance, and forgiveness as Callie and Beckett are drawn together in a way neither ever imagined... They found that the same woman had wreaked havoc on both their lives although neither had met before. And they realized that a man one never knew loved completely even when he wasn't always able to say it with words...
Although they had very different circumstances, both of them learned to work through their brokenness with the help of God and the people He put in their lives. - Wise friends can give great counsel - as Luke shared. " So, if you really want my advice, pray. And tell the story of God bringing you through hard circumstances. That's where you'll find the strength and perspective you need to navigate all this."
And here's a favorite quote: "It's possible for treasured things to come out of brokenness. Even if it doesn't happen the way any of us would have wanted. Even when it comes through loss."

Callie and Beckett gave each other a chance [really what choice did they have when they were named co-heirs to a farm?] and learned that God can work miracles in our brokenness if we just let Him. Callie: "Do you see those rays? People call them the Hand of God. Proof of miracle sightings. Do you know what makes them? Just light on dust. If that's not a miracle, that Light can make something so common as dust beautiful, then I don't know what is...and although you and I have had our share of dust, I think God is making something beautiful."
This is a wonderful book that I would recommend to everyone because we've all had hard times in our lives... and our God is big enough to walk with us through the hard and to redeem it for something beautiful.
TRIGGER WARNING: if child neglect has been a part of your past, it may be a hard read - but as I started with - this is a book about surprises, acceptance of things we cannot change, and forgiveness... but most importantly, I think it's about letting God's light shine through our brokenness and turn it into something new and wonderful.
NOTE: I received a copy of this book from the publisher for review purposes. ALL OPINIONS ARE MY OWN.This book comes out this week - so go ahead and order your copy now!!
