WOW -
Back to May and our little trip through
Tennessee - Arkansas - Oklahoma - Kansas - Missouri -
Arkansas - and Tennessee - LOL -
Craig picked me up from the Whatever House and we headed into town [Wichita] for lunch - so pleased to find Meddy's! A sweet little Mediterranean cafe that was DELICIOUS. [We bought olive and pita chips to take home with us!
He had previewed our route and had a stop planned for an outdoor art exhibit -
It was SO NICE to be in The B [aka #LordAlfredtheAirstream] with no worries about parking or turning around, ETC. ETC.
This art exhibit is now closed to the public [we knew this beforehand],
but there is still so much to see along the property line!
We decided to have a short drive day [yay for retirement!!] so we stopped in Cherryvale [population 2192] at a rec.gov campground. Had dinner in the camper then got our scooters and rode all over the campground and recreation area.
The weather was PERFECT and it was nice to have some time
to just be together.
That evening I stored and organized all my crafty goodness up on my bunk - it's nice to have that space, but will admit it can easily get crowded and - yes - I took too much stuff for my crafty weekend...
so we could detour for a moment onto Route 66.
We're a little surprised that we're loving the #vanlife as much as we do!
Baxter Springs was a cool little town where we had a quick meat + three for lunch and picked up the much needed scooter part at the local Ace Hardware...
Cherryvale Campground
[Rec.gov] on Big Hill Lake
Pretty - rustic with paved roads and sites.
Some had a lake view.
Clean bathrooms and showers.
VERY BUSY campground due to everyone
enjoying the local lake and water activities.
good internet and cell.
We'd return if ever in the area -
Next Stop: Branson, Mo
