A few weeks ago - on Flag Day -

we got together with friends and family to do a little tie-dye craft project ...
We'd seen some different ideas on the internets and decided to give it a go
Starting with T-Shirts and dye from the local Hobby Lobby
[Can I just pause and tell you how VERY nice it was
to actually walk through the store
[with a  mask on]
and see ALL THE THINGS while listening to praise music?
The first time in months - just so wonderful!].

So we gathered up with our jugs of red and blue dye
[that we had pre-mixed and ready to use -]
and set to work trying to create some sort of ode to the USA flag on our shirt ...
It took us a bit longer than we'd expected to get our bands strategically placed in the hopes that they turn our looking like some semblance of the US Flag...

They looked like sausages when all was said and done...
And that dye is messy, y'all -
After the red dye was on [with as squirt bottle] we dipped the blue area and then we wrapped them up tightly in a grocery bag to set for a week or so...
Then we rinsed well and washed per our instructions so
we could wear them to our parking lot picnic..
[in our secret place]
And... hmmm... not as flag-like as we had hoped...
And DEFINITELY not as dark as thought it would be...
But it was a fun summer / camping project...
[I may or may not attempt to 'fix' mine - lol]
