Annie Lee the Argosy Update No. 003

hmmmmmmmm...
Color Scheme...
I debated a bit and even went as far as to buy some things to test out a bit...
But one thing that will be a constant for sure is the deep yellow
- harvest gold, if you remember the 70s like I do -
So we picked up a couple of cans of spray paint to see which might be as close as possible to the counter tops and molding in the bathroom...
And I'm pretty sure the top one has won this battle -
Tuscan Sun, I think it is -
You can see how closely it matched the sink cover in that first photo -
Then I couldn't decide it I wanted to go with greens, greys and white
with the harvest gold for accent... for a bright, fresh look...
Or go with navy, grey and yellow for a more traditional 'camp' feel -
We kept these two looks spread out on the bed for a couple of weeks...
And on the couch as well ...
And in the end the greens won -
For one thing, we've decided to keep the original wood-look walls of Annie Lee, so we think the navy would be too dark... Secondly, green [almost any hue] has been one of my favorite colors for most of my life... This sea glass shade is one of my absolute favorites - not quite aqua... not quite mint...
And thirdly, I'd already purchased this fabric for the shasta compact we bought last spring [now for sale since all of our efforts are being put towards Annie Lee.]
I think this color combination
dark grey - shades of light green - dark yellow
will be classic, modern, and wonderful.
Obviously, we've already got the bed spreads,
but also have the shower curtain and rug for the bath too.
Fun!
I can't wait to see it all come together!
