why do people schedule ALL THE FUN things on the same weekend?
Is there some giant calendar planner app that says
the second weekend in July is the best for fun? HA -
Honestly -- we usually try to space it out a bit
[even
though I know most of you don’t believe we’re capable of that…]
But his
past weekend we just had to give it a GO.
So many fun things –
Let’s start with my Bible Journaling group –
and I
want to say I love our little meeting place @ Atlanta Bread on
University –
and I’m SO THANKFUL for the freedoms we have in our
country!
This past weekend while we met there was a small
group Bible Study meeting together at a large table, a group of friends
in a booth sharing prayer time together [yes I was an eavesdropper]
and
others with work meetings, etc.
And then there was our ‘little' group
of about ten women, gathered together to
share
the joy of God’s goodness all around us.
We all share ideas [and
supplies!] together and create whatever we want when we meet-up…
I
haven’t done a print-out these last few months and have, instead, been
sharing ideas on
facebook or instagam under #faithbasedpages.
LOVE the way we all put a different spin on one idea!
From there, my sweetheart and I met friends at the
Rocket City Burger Battle.
Not sure what we expected, but it wasn’t the
chaotic school cafeteria we ended up in – lol –
Still, we were able to
sample five of the burgers offered [all good
-]
and then went to get a real Huntsville classic and enjoy visiting
together
where we could actually hear each other speak…
[See photo at the top of this post - ]
Between the four
of us finishing each other’s thoughts we hope to grow old gracefully –
ha -
Later than evening C and I headed to the
Lavender Farm to create a lavender wreath.
It was a nice drizzly rain
when we arrived but it dried up as
we actually got started and that
helped keep the temperatures down enough to enjoy
the evening. [We were OUTSIDE in the middle of JULY in THE SOUTH y’all.
HOT AND HUMID.]
It was such a sweet set-up with vintage table
coverings, china plates and goblets…
Loved the lavender goodies
[lavender lemonade, lavender cookies, lavender cheesecake,
lavender lemon bars, etc.] they shared with us!
And omgoodness, when
they brought out the lavender for the wreaths the smell was wonderful!!
An overview of how to create got us started quickly!
[and of course we consider ourselves pros after creating those gorgeous Christmas wreathes - lol]
And, OF COURSE, we love our wreaths!!
Mine is hanging in our living
room giving us all kids of relaxing vibes as I
type this…
We ate a quick [pre-packaged, grocery] salad after
church on Sunday because we knew we were going to GRAZE all evening at
Huntsville’s first farm to fork event –
Local farms were paired with
local chefs to create wonderful farm fresh dishes
that they shared with us. SO GOOD.
You can do a quick search of
#GrazeHSV to see all the goodies we had. Some of our favorites: the tiny
stuffed butternut squash, Farmburgers beef crostini, the corn fritter
with tomato jam, tomato slab pie with parmesan
crust, and the pastry cups with pimento cheese, etc.etc. etc.
And, once again the
rain held off until we got back home,
and we had a nice cloud cover that
kept things cooler for the evening.
But, that was not the case for the Firefly Hike out
at the HsvGardens earlier in the week
- still we had fun visiting
together while we caught and released my favorite bug of all time! And
the little s’more refreshment along the way was
fun too!
NOTE – I may or may not have taken the photos
shared here – my friends and I share photos back and forth.. and I’m not
sure which are mine…
