I know some of you are joining in The Summer of Color fun for the next few weeks
where the focus will be on a different color each week.
This week the color is PINK - a not so favorite color of mine.
I'm not adverse to pink [I have some pink clothing...]
but it's not a go -to color for me. [Still, it's not my least favorite...]
For instance, THIS started out as my 'pink project':
but you can see that it quickly morphed into lavender and yellow -
[Thanks for the sunflowers, Bernice!]
When I finished her up on Sunday I quickly thought -
"Oh, I think I love her,"
but I say that almost every time I finish up one of my girls...
and David Cassidy's song goes through my mind -
and I was NEVER a David Cassidy fan...
so I think that's weird.
I was determined to have a project for PINK
so I started again [and again - lol.]
And this is the end result:
Again, you can see that I added a little other color
[how on earth did I come up with pink and yellow? ]
I was really striving for a monochromatic scheme...
[thanks for the flower Dawn!]
Don't let the background distract you -
those are the screens I painted for the Arts Stroll -
and I'm all about USING my stuff
so they're on my desk
[propped against the wall]
holding projects nearly / recently completed...
where the focus will be on a different color each week.

Those are both great projects.
That's a great pink project but I'm glad you showed your yellow girl too, because I love her! It doesn't look like you will have any trouble with next week's color theme, LOL.
Hey, as long as there's a little pink in there somewhere, lol! Great projects! Your sunflower girlie is my fav. You could cheat and use her for next week too, ha!

Isn't it funny how sometimes we just don't have a choice with our selections, lol! Your first piece was just calling for other colors ;) They are both beautiful - and I love your orange and pink combination on the second piece - my favorite color grouping. Thank you! xo
I love both of them!
pink and yellow look good,....these are both fab...xxx
so great projet you have realise for the pink week...I like both of them for the colors and the details...will follow you for the next...xx
I love them both. I am not a great lover of pink so it was a challenge for me too.
Like the addition of the little bird & birdhouse - can't read the words, but I like how they're outlined to give focus.
I think both projects are fab. I don't think of myself as a "pink" person, but I suddenly am aware I paint in pink all the time! funny.
They turned out lovely even without being totally pink. I love the flowers and your words of wisdom.
Both beautiful projects. Annette x
Both pieces are lovely but my favourite is the one with the sunflowers.
I adore both projects! Orange and pink are fav for me! And lavender and yellow and, and...don't think there is a colour I don't like - well except for non-colours...I really can't abide beige!
2 great projects. Your girl is sweet. I love making them, too and am looking at making them more my own like you have!!:)
Your pink is great.
