Aishling the Airstream Update No. 049

 Stony Fork Campground
Jefferson National Forest
Such a beautiful area
[as most COE campgrounds are!]

I kinda love it -
From the internets: Stony Fork sits in a valley of the Appalachians at a 2,400 foot elevation. Its creekside setting provides a peaceful soundtrack of running water. In springtime, wildflowers and rhododendron dot the region with spectacular colors, and fall is reliably scenic with its red and yellow foliage. Stony Fork, tucked in a dense forest setting, is located at the foot of Big Walker Mountain beside the Big Walker Mountain Scenic Byway. The East Fork of Stony Fork Creek winds through the campground, providing a serene setting for trout fishing and water play for visitors at the welcoming campground. The 1 mile Stony Fork Nature Trail takes campers through groves of pine and hardwoods, and the campground loop road makes for a scenic walk, too.

This was a long travel day and a quick overnight for us -
We ate bogo pancakes at Cracker Barrel
before heading to the campground...

and it was raining when we got backed in -
Craig is my hero as he did all the outside stuff in his rain jacket...
While I tidied up the inside and enjoyed  gorgeous view from our windows.
I still love #AishlingtheAirstream 's abundance of windows!
We were tired, y'all -
So we just enjoyed a quiet evening
with the forest sounds.
[It was too wet to get outside -]
But the foggy morning sure
helped make some great photos!
Here's a real-life one as we were about to head out for the day - lol -
Keeping it real.
Stony Fork Campground
So quiet and beautiful -
I'm pretty sure the cell service was not great...
Bathrooms were clean enough.
We'd definitely stop here again.
