First off - How is it possible that we've camped 15 times since December? LOL
We were here with our Music City Airstream Club
- and it was a great weekend!
and this weekend we had a little refresh on CPR and basic first-aid.
We also covered tin cans [get it?!] in printed paper
and planted spring flowers for our Mother's Day Craft.
They included all sorts of ribbons and decor to embellish with!
Activities like these give us all a chance to visit together!
We enjoyed a hot dog supper, [yogurt] banana splits for breakfast one morning, and the group went out to eat at the lodge Saturday night... [we left Saturday so we could be with Craig's mother on Mother's Day -]
So let's talk a minute about Falls Creek Falls - we've camped here a few times in the past... and I guess when we were here with the boys [in our pop-up] we were so busy with them that we just never realized HOW BIG THIS PARK is!
More recently [pre-pandemic] we were here with the Serro Scotty Club [remember our little #LottieScotty ?] and found the sights to be the most UNeven of any campground we've ever been in. [TRUTH - we kept little Lottie hooked to the truck so she would not roll down the hill to the falls...]
Well, somehow we'd forgotten about that - and once again ended up on a site that was so steep in the front we just didn't feel safe...
And by 'we' - I mean me.
So Craig is my hero and we moved the next day.
Still not a LEVEL site - but oh so much better!
[Loved the ferns with our #AishlingtheAirstream !]
Due to weather [tornadoes - flooding] we were only there a couple of days and we sure enjoyed exploring the park a bit more -
There are beautiful views - and nice little [and not little] hikes...
And the flowers were gorgeous!
We drove around and saw the renovated lodge -
And the space around the camp store is wonderful!
We had a great day!
But NOTHING prepared us for what we were about to see that night.
But NOTHING prepared us for what we were about to see that night.
[You may remember that when we we flew in to NYC last summer we swung by Matt's apartment, picked him up, and immediately drove upstate because it was going to be POSSIBLE to see them... [Alas, weather prevented it - ]
So when we heard it MIGHT be possible to see them IN THE SOUTH we set an alarm to get up at midnight to check it out... But we both got a text from friends and neighbors around 9:30 saying they could see them at home!!
We hopped in the car and drove to the boat ramp.
Oh. My. Goodness.
God's Glorious Light deserves a post of its own.
It was THE BEST pajama part - EVAH.
