From their website:  If you’ve never been to Alabama, you’re missing one of the most picturesque areas of the country. Anchors Aweigh RV Resort is a premier RV Park and Campground only 7 miles from the Gulf of Mexico in Foley, Baldwin County and offers the finest camping near the Alabama Gulf Coast! They feature 112 large landscaped and [aved RV site with Full Hookups, including 20/30/50 Amp, Water, Sewer, Cable TV & WIFI Wireless Internet and a picnic Table and patio at each site -
We were here with our Alabama Airstream Group -
for the Hot Air Balloon Festival
We'd reserved a site in the middle of the group, hoping to get to know everyone better. But when we got there we found we'd been moved to a different site...
We enjoyed the pool one afternoon...
spent a day thrift shopping...
And relaxed at our camper a bit -
We were close to the club house where
we met together for music and a shrimp boil - yum.
This is a nice urban campground
[- I love a good even concrete patio!]
... with few trees or shade.
What a difference our awnings make over those small windows!
#AishlingtheAirstream
The rally was centered around the Hot Air Balloon Festival,
so Craig and I headed over that way
a couple of evenings to see the balloon glow -

This festival is VERY different than what we're used to in Decatur...
[In Decatur we're on the field before 7 while they are inflating for their flights -]
The schedule stated it opened at 11 each day,
well after the balloons take flight...
So if you go to the field / festival
you're really only seeing tethered balloons...
But when they are all lined up
they're a beautiful sight

We've been on the go for a few weeks now...
so we headed home early on Sunday morning.
I love seeing the sun filter through the fog!
But I didn't love only being able to see one car in front of us.
It burned off soon enough though -
and it was good to be home.
