Fair Harbor RV and Fort Wilderness
Let's start with one of our favorite stop-overs on the way to Florida -
Fair Harbor RV
Perry, Georgia
From the internet: This is a family owned & operated RV Park & Campground
since 1999. Fair Harbor RV is one of the top Georgia RV Parks and Campgrounds,
quietly nestled around a stocked fishing lake with large, easy, full
service pull thrus with Wifi and seasonal Saturday breakfast included.
This family owned and operated Georgia campground is located just one
quarter mile west of I-75, Exit 135 in Perry, Ga.
Clean, convenient,
safe & easy in and out 30/50 amps sites with 24hr. laundry, easy
access propane, store, planned activities, seasonal events, fishing and
more.
We love the convenience of it for sure!
It was a great stop on our way to Ft. Wilderness in February!
Ft. Wilderness Campground
Walt Disney World
Orlando, Florida
And if you've not camped at Disney, here's some info from their website: Experience the magic of the great outdoors. Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort &
Campground evokes the timeless beauty of the American frontier, with
deer, rabbits, ducks and armadillos roaming the Resort’s 750 acres of
pine and cypress forest. Discover charming woodland trails, spectacular
pool areas and rip-roarin’ entertainment at this picturesque backcountry
retreat. There are 4 types of campsites that accommodate everything
from tents to 45-foot and longer RVs—with a maximum of 10 Guests per
site. Each campsite is equipped with privacy-enhancing landscaping,
water, cable television and electrical hook-ups, a picnic table and a
charcoal grill. Most campsites also include a sewer hook-up, and some
even permit pets.
[and keep in mind that we've not had a 'regular' day in the parks since 2019.]
sometimes from the upper floor of the Contemporary ...
These are the fireworks at Epcot -
seen during dinner at The Coronado one evening -
We usually ride our scooters up to Pioneer Hall for breakfast at least once during our stay. [We share a boxed breakfast and it's almost always enough for us.]
The other days we enjoy a relaxing breakfast of yogurt or oatmeal at our camper '
We enjoy eating at some of the restaurants in the hotels on Disney property.
- There's some yummy food out there!
But y'all know Disney can be pricey -
so we eat one meal at the camper every day too...
[The wind was a bit high for us to feel comfortable having our awning out...]
This is the dole whip flight at Disney Springs -
I think we both agree that Craig is a pineapple purist,
while I like the strawberry better...
We enjoy this character meal almost every time we're in 'the world.'

And of course the characters are a lot of FUN -
but the prime rib meal is delicious!
[We would eat there without the characters - just sayin']
We LOVE riding our scooters on the trails
throughout the campground!
Some are very woodsy and others are near the campers -
It's also fun to see the extreme take
We've always gone to Disney during the 'off-season'
[if there is such a thing anymore -]
and one of the things we enjoy most [since we're not taking the time to go into the parks] is having the 'grown-up' pool mostly to ourselves!
It's very nice and relaxing - especially with perfect Florida temps!
Since we were there during Mardi Gras
we went over to Port Orleans one day to enjoy the parades and mickey beignets. They were in full Mardi Gras mode since it was Fat Tuesday - they use floats from many of the discontinued parades, so it was fun to see!
We try to ride ALL the transportation while we're there -
The skyliner and monorail are our favorites!
We also stopped by the Art of Animation Resort one day -
And it was bit of a disappointment
becasue at regular park closing ALL THE LIGHTS on the sidewalks were turned off.
And our after-hour event didn't end until 1 a.m.
And I missed seeing all the cute topiaries lit up at night...
AND - Most of the world showcase was closed. WHAAA???
Ahhh - live and learn.
We'll be back, I'm sure...
Just maybe not to Epcot after-hours.
