Aishling the Airstream Update No. 004

 CanOpener
Top Sail Hill
Santa Rosa Beach, Florida

According to Wikipedia, Topsail Hill Preserve State Park is a 1,640-acre Florida State Park located ten miles  east of Destin, on scenic highway 30A.

The park has over three miles of white sand beaches, as well as sand dunes, lakes, unique plant and animal life, and wetlands. It is named for a sand dune which stands nearly 25 feet above sea level. Topsail Hill preserve is home to a variety of animal life, including the endangered Choctawhatchee Beach Mouse. There are trails throughout the park, including a path that leads to the northern shore of Lake Campbell, one of the three dune lakes contained within the preserve.

Each January over 140 airstreams gather together at the campground.
We've enjoyed this rally for a few years now and always enjoy seeing the park filled with silver!

We take our scooters and ride down to the beach at least once each day [they have a tram that runs to the beach area as well, since there is no access for cars.]
We absolutely love the beautiful natural beach at Top Sail!

CanOpener has lots and lots of activities for everyone to participate in!
A favorite is the chili dinner where everyone gathers together to share their favorite recipes! And yes - we take a muffin tin so we can get little samples of some of the 50+ varieties of chili! But my favorite thing from a year ago was the crawfish cornbread - DEElish [and I don't even like crawfish - lol]

On another day, our Argosy Airstream Group
provides tomato sandwiches, moon pies, and RC Cola.
We always have a crowd!

Of course - they could be a carry over from the bloody mary table nearby...[They provide virgin ones too!]

We can make 400 sandwiches in no time at all!
Just sayin'!
And it's fun to do it with camping buddies we don't
get to see very often!

Lindsey has been our cruise director for the past few years...
and this year she decided to introduce something new...

The long-long table [elegant] dinner party.
Each group set up their own table space and individually
brought their dinner to enjoy at sunset.

And as DJ said - every woman in our little group
knew exactly what was expected of us [ha.]
Our group had white table clothes, chargers for our plates,
 candles, and lanterns...
even if some of us were eating subway...
And of course - we all 'dressed' for the occasion too!
It really was a night to remember.

I know I say it over and over -
but we love a winter beach!
Seeing other Music City Club members was a treat!
And visiting with friends we only see a few times a years is always fun!

But y'all know us - we got away on our own and scooted out to the lake at least once... and maybe to the Donut Hole too... [those strawberry angels call my name.]
CanOpener is always a fun way to start the new year!
And we're sure hoping 2024 is better than these last few months have been!
I saw the rocket first!
It's always good to be home...
