Y'all know I love to read!

And it's so fun to go to the mail box and find a couple of new titles waiting for me from my favorite publisher - Seriously, if you want intriguing clean mysteries and sweet love stories go browse Baker / Revell Publishing!
Here's one of my favorites that just came out.
Suzanne Woods Fisher creates character that are so relatable.
This is such a great book as we get to know -- and grow with -- Lydie as she struggles with finding her place as a young adult Amish woman who realizes she has ADHD... The  supporting characters are well-thought-out and add to the story of the community she lives in.
Suzanne Woods Fisher shows that none of us are perfect as we see the relationships between brothers and grannies and neighbors grow and depend on each other once they are truly honest and let each one be who they are meant to be -
I rooted for them, I cried with them, and I really hoped the best for them!
Anything but Plain
shows us that we all have gifts and desires and struggles as we follow along with Lydie who has always felt a little different from her community...
And Nathan who loves her for the person she is...
As Lydie considers leaving her community, she and Nathan's lives circle around each other as they've been friends since childhood... taking twists and turns that all of us face, including jealously, illness, guilt, forgiveness, and of course -- love.
Both Nathan and Lydie have their struggles to face as they grow into the person
they are destined to become.
[She with her ADHD and he as he goes back to the root of his farming history.]
But in the end they are able to accept themselves and others as the truth comes out.
This is a favorite quote of mine,
" You think something is wrong with you? No! I don't even want you to think that.
Instead, I want to you to realize that there's a lot right with you.
Quite a lot. "
And I believe that - there's quite a lot right with all of us -
[regardless of our quirks or diagnoses or labels...]
if only we have the insight to see it.
And I hope we all have someone in our lives [like Dok]
who can guide us to reach our full potential.
Note: I was given this book by the publisher for review purposes.
