Annie Lee Update No. 063

 Dale Hollow Dam
near Celina, Tennessee
[above Cookeville]

We've enjoyed getting to know our Airstream Family!
For those who don't know - if you own an airstream [any year!] you can join the Airstream Club International [WBCCI*] and get those Big Red Numbers!
[You might have noticed that we display ours in our back window -]
We joined the Music City Club and are Alabama Club affiliates...
Mostly because we LOVE to camp in Tennessee!
[We are also Vintage Airstream Club affiliates.]
Our Music City Club is VERY active and has a gathering around the area every month - Our club is BIG so there are usually different people at each event [few people can attend EVERY month] and we've enjoyed getting to know everyone!
Back in April we drove up to the Dale Hollow Dam Campground
A beautiful campground set in the hills of North East Tennessee.

Our site was 'waterfront'
and we COULD see the water between the trees a bit...

But just down the way there were small piers
where you could walk out and enjoy the view...

And you could easily drive up and see the dam -
And the HUGE lake just above it.
I'm always intrigued with dams
because my father worked in / around them my entire life.

I've had the privilege [?!] of being INSIDE a giant turbine to see how it's used to make electricity and it's kinda crazy to know that all that water keeps us going in our day-to-day activities...
So it was cool to see this dam that, while in Tennessee, is outside the TVA...
There's not much else around Dale Hollow...
a couple of VERY small towns
[one of which has THE BEST little breakfast rolls I've ever eaten!]
But lots and lots of God's beautiful creation!
And y'all know we love that
[or we wouldn't be campers, would we?]
This was a wonderful relaxing weekend!
[I'm still loving how the little 'hippie' lights hung over
#AnnieLeetheArgosy 's windows show through our rock guards!]
And this is a fun photo of us after we packed most everything in
due to some rain heading out way -
We're getting better and better at lightening our load!
Dale Hollow Dam
My take: SO very clean and neat.
Limited access to the campground [which we love.]
Level, packed gravel, sites that were [mostly] spaced out nicely.
Clean bathrooms - a bit rustic -
Good internet and cell service.
