Rock Island State PArk
Rock Island, TN
This *IS* a crazy world
we live in... Isn't it?
And because of that I'm SO GLAD we have Annie Lee the Argosy that allows us to get out and enjoy life a bit. I honestly don't know when I might feel comfortable staying in a hotel again... not anytime soon, that's for certain.
Recently we drove up to Rock Island State Park
in Tennessee
First of all, let me say that the Music City Airstream Club
is such a great group of people...
and secondly -
HOW HAVE I NEVER HEARD OF THIS CAMPGROUND BEFORE?
Or the TVA dam [Great Falls] that is nearby?!?
My
dad worked at the TVA my entire life and I've always thought I knew ALL
about the dams along the river[s] - but oops - obviously NOT. lol
This is a beautiful place... with secluded campsites,
trails for hiking,
beaches for swimming / canoeing /kayaking / boating,
and nice waterfalls too!
We enjoyed meeting new camping friends [all while social-distancing, of course.]
The weekend agenda was a perfect blend of group times and explore on-your-own times.
I especially enjoyed the craft morning where the ladies visited while creating these adorable fabric tied wreaths. The men joined together to talk all things 'airstream' / camper at the same time...
We always love a campfire and I especially enjoy it when the fire ring is
tucked away from other campers...
The weather was PERFECT and we enjoyed a campfire each night...
but again... never got out the s'mores to eat - ha.
