Annie Lee the Argosy Update No. 005

 Davy Crockett State Park
or, more correctly -

DAVID CROCKETT STATE PARK in Lawrenceburg, TN.
We've camped at this park for over thirty years and just recently learned that there are, in fact, TWO David Crockett State Parks in Tennessee.. who knew?

The Park Rangers and staff are always so welcoming!
[This is where we host our vintage camping event in March each year -]
And we're loving the new sites in campground 2 after they completely renovated a year or so back! The pads are all level and safely fenced if there is a drop-off and you still have a wonderful woodsy view just outside your door!

We were there in October, and it wasn't as cool as we'd hoped,
but we still had to enjoy a small campfire in the new fire pits!

And it was nice and relaxing,
WE love a good campfire!
This TN State Park has campgrounds, cabins, a restaurant, amphitheater, hiking trails, covered bridge, etc!! [Also lots of deer and wild turkeys can be seen around the park.]

We love it.
And knew it was the perfect spot for Annie Lee's maiden voyage.
We were happy to see that the pumpkin trail was happening the weekend we were there -
[check the date for next October!]
Campers and community friends can contribute to this fun little hike that happens after dark.
And even though it was a rainy evening, the pumpkins were lots of fun.
They also had volunteers [get it?] along the way to tell the stories of some of the people who who first lived in the great state of Tennessee -

It was a fun way to start our Halloween 'season', if you will - lol -
[And y'all know I love Halloween!]
The fall colors did not disappoint the weekend we were there!
Fall is our favorite time of year to camp -
we love to have colorful leaves falling all around the camper...
And woodsy views out our windows!
David Crockett State Park in Lawrenceburg is only a couple of hours from home
and is a perfect getaway for us.
Even with a full campground we can still have the feeling of being [almost] alone in the woods - you should give them a visit sometime.
