"Start spreadin' the news, I'm leavin' today

I want to be a part of it
New York, New York
These vagabond shoes, are longing to stray
Right through the very heart of it
New York, New York ---"
Truth is, I think it's a great place to visit, but I'm not looking to move there.
The youngest, however, seems to be loving it.
And, there are lots of things to love...
We were only there for a few days -
but we sure tried to do ALL THE THINGS. ha.
1 - Including Times Square the evening we got into town...
And a stroll down to the New York Times Building where he works.
2 - We decided to check off one of my bucket list items and see the Today Show taping LIVE at Rockefeller Plaza - and it was surprisingly easy to do -  There wasn't a huge crowd so it was easy to navigate between watching them live and when they came out for the meet and greet.
And look! There we are on TV!
It WAS fun, but I kept thinking, "My mama would have LOVED this!" lol
3 - Next stop: breakfast at New Zealand place = REALLY GOOD.
We also enjoyed true NYC bagels one morning -
4 - We enjoyed seeing a little left-over snow in Washington Park. [The sun came out later in the day and it was a beautiful place to rest my feet -- I've got a little ankle thing going on, but I survived walking 10+ miles a day - wow!]
5 - Time for our Greenwich Village Food Tour -
ALL Italian.
ALL delicious.
And Curt was THE BEST tour guide we've ever had!
So fun and full of information about the area.
[Side note: LOVED that my little striped bag could easily hold that
pink coat once it warmed up!]
6 - One World Trade Center.
Of course we saw the memorial that is wonderful -
and may we never forget that dreadful day and how our country came together...
The youngest got us tickets timed so that we'd be up on the 101st [?!} floor
 right before sunset...
It was really beautiful.
And I have to say that the little Nikon Super Zoom came through -
Can you see the statue of Liberty down there?
Just to the left of Ellis Island, I believe...
Oh.
THERE she is!
We also enjoyed the beautiful Octavius Center -
Craig has a great video of everyone scurrying to their trains...
We didn't have much time for dinner so we grabbed some fish tacos
back in Times Square -
7 - Then we headed over to see The Lion King.
Thank you sweets, for the great seats!
8 - So fun to see the LOVE sculpture right across from his apartment building..
And of course, loved seeing his apartment - that's actually quite a bit bigger than the one he had in Chattanooga. And look! A little bit of home is there!
9 -  We enjoyed an afternoon at The Met where we only [quickly] saw three exhibits.
Because I believe you could stay in there for days and never fully see it all.
And there's no way to pick a favorite - although I found a few that I could explore for a while... Like this one... there's so many different things to see in this painting. I love it.
10 - We went up to his office building around sunset another evening -
Such beautiful views from the 45th floor [I think!]
THIS is right out his window - WOW.
I could enjoy THAT view everyday.
And Lady Liberty can be seen from their break room...
[Again with the Nikon super zoom.]
11 - We breezed over to the High Line and Chelsea Market...
Craig and I agree we could spend a bit more time exploring those areas...
12 - Had dinner at a wonderful little Italian place in Midtown
and cronuts at the Donut Pub later one evening.
[This truly is a city that never sleeps.]
13 - Enjoyed church at St. Bart's just a few blocks from Matt's apartment...
You know I love the architecture!
[And the people were wonderfully welcoming too -]
They've been meeting in this building since 1918.
14 - We made it to China Town in time for lunch before enjoying
the parade with about a half million of our friends -
Kidding.
 Not kidding.
That's a story for another post.
[It really was fun!]
15 - But we mostly just enjoyed being with this one.
He looks like he lives there, doesn't he?
And I don't know about the rest of the fam,
but I'm already planning some things to do when I go back...
